The City of Imperia is, in every respect, a distributed campus, thanks to the presence of coordinated services and organizations across the entire municipal area and to a comprehensive university and specialist educational offer: technological programmes in engineering and agri-food, law programmes with a degree in Jurisprudence, and economics through Tourism Sciences.
At the heart of the campus, linking everything together, is the cycle path (widely regarded as “the most beautiful in Italy”), running like a living, pulsating backbone through the city. It connects the university sites to the train station and passes by numerous sports facilities, beautiful beaches, town centres for breaks and leisure time, and key technology hubs for lab and work activities.
The services connected to this university ecosystem are managed and coordinated by the P.U.PO.LI. Foundation (Foundation for the Promotion of the University in the Ligurian Western Riviera), established by the Provincial Administration of Imperia together with 13 coastal municipalities from Ventimiglia to Cervo.
The local educational offer is divided into two strands: UNIGE’s university programmes and the applied, technology-focused programmes of Liguria Region’s ITS Agri-food Institute.
