Athletics track

What it is

In Imperia, in the Borgo Prino area, you’ll find the “Angelo Lagorio” athletics track, overlooking the sea and its small beaches. This is where Davide Re—an Imperia-born talent of the Italian national team and an Olympic athlete—also trained, and the track hosts competitions of every level.

The facility is well equipped, with certified installations, a regulation track, and grandstands to watch sporting events. It is open to the public all year round, both in summer and winter, and is suitable for individual as well as group training. It’s ideal for anyone who wants to nurture a passion for athletics or simply stay fit while on holiday.

During the winter and spring season, the venue also welcomes schools for races, tournaments, and award ceremonies.

Ciccione Stadium

What it is

The “Nino Ciccione” Stadium is Imperia’s main grass sports venue, named after Giovanni “Nino” Ciccione, a corporal from Imperia who fell during World War I. It can host around 3,300 spectators and is the official home ground of Imperia Calcio, with approval valid up to Lega Pro.

The stadium’s capacity is divided into four main sections:


  • Covered main stand: around 1,500 seats

  • North stand: the traditional gathering point for the ultras supporters, around 500 seats

  • South stand: reserved for away fans, around 500 seats

  • Side stands (Distinti): around 800 seats

Cycle Path

What it is

The Imperia Cycle Path is an experience not to be missed. The route runs through the city, from Diano Marina to Ospedaletti, offering breathtaking views that combine the charm of the sea with the beauty of urban architecture.
Along the way, you can enjoy spectacular panoramas of the Ligurian coast, whether walking or cycling, moving through green stretches and picturesque viewpoints overlooking the Ligurian Sea.

By car:

  • From the A10 motorway, take the “Imperia Ovest” exit if you wish to start from Porto Maurizio, or “Imperia Est” to begin from Oneglia.

  • Follow the signs for the city center, then towards Lungomare or Borgo Marina.

  • Parking available along Calata Cuneo, Viale Matteotti, and the port areas.



By train:

  • Get off at Imperia station (serving both Oneglia and Porto Maurizio).

  • From there, the cycle path can be reached in 10–15 minutes on foot or by taxi.

Municipal Swimming Pool

What it is

The municipal swimming pool “Felice Cascione” in Imperia welcomes all sports enthusiasts and athletes with a state-of-the-art facility.

The complex features four pools designed to meet the needs of every type of user.
The main pool measures 33×25 meters, while the pool dedicated to teaching activities is 20×10 meters.
The facility also includes a special pool for motor rehabilitation for people with disabilities, and for moments of relaxation athletes can enjoy a 15-seat hydromassage pool.

A gym of approximately 140 square meters is also available inside the facility.

Whether attending water polo matches, swimming competitions, or simply watching training sessions, the venue offers an 800-seat grandstand and features a bar service.

By car:

  • Take the Imperia Ovest exit from the A10 motorway.

  • Follow the signs for Porto Maurizio / Zona San Lazzaro.

  • Continue along Viale Matteotti and turn into Via San Lazzaro until you reach number 1.

  • Parking available in front of the facility and in the surrounding streets.



By train:

  • Get off at Imperia train station.

  • Reachable in 10 minutes by taxi or by bus towards Porto Maurizio/San Lazzaro.



By public transport:

  • Bus stops near Viale Matteotti and San Lazzaro, a few minutes’ walk away.

What it is

By car:

  • Take the Imperia Ovest exit from the A10 motorway.

  • Follow the signs for Porto Maurizio / San Lazzaro area.

  • Continue along Viale Matteotti, then turn toward Via San Lazzaro.

  • Parking is available in front of the sports hall and in the nearby side streets.



By train:

  • Get off at Imperia train station.

  • Reachable in about 10 minutes by taxi or by urban bus toward Porto Maurizio/San Lazzaro.



By public transport:

  • Several urban bus lines stop on Viale Matteotti or Via San Lazzaro, just a short walk from the sports hall.

What it is

The Sports Complex now offers:


  • bocce courts

  • a padel court

  • an outdoor fitness area

  • a relaxation trail



The entire complex is lit by a modern LED system powered by photovoltaic panels.

This multi-sport center was created with the aim of becoming a landmark for people of all ages, promoting physical activity, community, and social interaction.

Urban Park

What it is

The Urban Park of Imperia is a large seaside green area, perfect for walks, relaxation, and outdoor activities.

By car:

  • Exit the A10 at Imperia Ovest.

  • Follow the signs for Porto Maurizio / Lungomare Vespucci.

  • The park stretches along the entire seafront and is easy to spot.

  • Parking available along Lungomare Amerigo Vespucci or in front of the park entrance.



By train:

  • Get off at Imperia station.

  • Reachable on foot in 15 minutes: simply walk down toward the sea and follow Lungomare Vespucci.

  • A few minutes by taxi or by bus toward Porto Maurizio.



By public transport:

  • Bus stops along Lungomare Vespucci and Viale Matteotti, both very close to the park.



On foot:

  • From the center of Porto Maurizio (Via Cascione), it’s a 10–12 minute walk.

  • From Oneglia, it can be reached through a pleasant walk passing by the port and along the long pier.
